Seadogs Back In The Win Column - Emphatic 8:3 Win Over Multi-National FC
SATURDAY DECEMBER 10, 2016 (TORONTO, ON) Scarborough Athletic FC Toronto have announced they will be returning to Ontario Soccer League competition following a change in leadership.
Club Chairman, Drew Kellas, will be moving toward a non-soccer role to focus more on the growth of the club as a business.
Moving into the day to day soccer operations are Player/Co-Coaches, Bill Chatzbasile and Johnny Panayiotou. Both of whom spent last summer with Olympiakos FC.
"It was very difficult t make the decision to step away from the field", Chairman Kellas said. "But with the personal changes I have had over the last year and knowing the Father Time is catching up with me, it is the right thing to do for the health of the organization as a whole. When Bill and Johnny came to me with a proposal to revitalize the team, it was a very exciting moment. To know that we have a group who are ready to take on leadership and crave success both on the field and off is hugely motivating".

Seadogs Back In The Win Column - Emphatic 8:3 Win Over Multi-National FC
MONDAY DECEMBER 14, 2015 (TORONTO, ON) They say speed kills and Monday Night there was no answer for it from Multi-National FC. Dubbed the Arab Line, Arash Massood, Rasil Baloch, and Zubire Tarin accounted for 6 goals on the night but undisciplined play would leave the gaffer far from satisfied.
The Seadogs were also experimenting with a shortened bench that proved troublesome but effective.
Arash would have 2 goals befit the game was 3 minutes old. Boro would add a third from newcomer George Ellinas in the 7th minute. Communication would break down as they would be penalized during a line change for too many players on the pitch. Although they would have a man advantage for two minutes,
Multi-National FC would not find their way to a decent scoring chance.
The referee would clearly err on a call that would allow the grey shirts back into the game 19 minutes in. Again a free kick would cost the Seadogs. Rasil Baloch would re-assert Scarborough Athletic's dominance with a goal in the 24th minute.
HT: Multi-National FC 1:4 Scarborough Athletic FC Toronto
The second half would be summed up in one word, UGLY. Boro would go up 5-1 in the 27th minute on Pedrag Stojic's second goal of the campaign but from there the game plan seemed to go out the window as Boro players seemed to get greedy and lose their shape and give up odd-man rushes.
In the 32nd minute, Multi-National FC would earn a corner kick and again capitalize on a miscue that would result in an own goal.
The referee would come into question as the gave's aggression would escalate. Another two minute penalty would not generate offense from Multi-National FC but they would capitalize on a ball that was clearly not in the net but the ref would call in.
The Seadogs would re-assert themselves from there. Massood would complete his hat trick, Tarin and Baloch would complete the Arab Line tally. MOTM would go to Keeper Steve Gastis for leadership on the pitch and keeping Athletic ahead.
FT: Multi-National FC 3:8 Scarborough Athletic FC Toronto
"I'll take the three points", said manager Drew Kellas, "but that was a very undisciplined way to win a game. I would say the referee was not of the level we expect but she erred in both directions. Bad calls or not, we expect a level of professionalism from all personnel.
Our opponent next week will not let us away with such cavalier behavior. Give away 4 minutes of man advantage and we can expect to be pulling balls out of the net. This was Frenchie's last game with us as he leaves for a trial in California and we wish him all the success in the world.
Still loads of work to be done but the Arab Line are progressing really well".
The club play their indoor season in the JS Soccer League and return to action on Monday, December 21st at the Metro Golf Dome. Kickoff at 7PM

Seadogs Fall Short... FT Malalakes FC 2:1 SAFC Toronto
MONDAY DECEMBER 7, 2015 (TORONTO, ON) Set Pieces continued to be the undoing of Scarborough Athletic FC Toronto as they gave up a half time lead and all three points that would have secured 2nd place in the table.
Boro came out on the front foot. The "Arab Line" of Rasil Baloch, Zubire Tarin, & Arash Massood began to show cohesion and proved dangerous. Second Shift capitalized. on 6 minutes, Winger, Ala Alhajsalem pounded a shot through the keeper that Pedrag Stojic directed in as it rolled just in front of the goal line.
Alhajsalem continued to harass the Malakes defense and created several opportunities that kept the opposition keeper busy.
HT: Malakes FC 0:1 Scarborough Athletic FC Toronto
The match would prove to be a game of two halves. Malalakes FC would take advantage of the high defense line and force a foul from defender Farman Achkzai. The resulting free kick would catch the Seadogs off guard by deflecting off the keeper an into the net.
In the 39th minute, Malalakes would earn a corner kick and again capitalize on a miscue. Despite controlling play for the last ten minutes of play, Scarborough Athletic could not find an equalizer.
FT: Malalakes FC 2:1 Scarborough Athletic FC Toronto
"It's a disappointment to be certain", said manager Drew Kellas. "We continue to allow lapses in concentration and communication. The first goal against, no expected the idea of putting the ball off the keeper on an indirect free kick. We were also caught again in mismatched lineups.
If we are to be successful there needs to be a consistency in the whole team".

"Boro" Double Up NIFC 6-3!
MONDAY NOVEMBER 30, 2015 (TORONTO, ON) Scarborough Athletic FC Toronto scored a half dozen goals tonight but it was the defending effort put in but the lone pairing of Jonathon Harvey and Junior Gastis that would secure the three points and see the two share Man Of The Match honours.
The first five minutes told everything about how the game was going to be played. Two words: UP TEMPO! NIFC showed a very quick and organized attack, especially on set pieces. It was only in the 13th minute when Arash Massood streaked through to meet a feed from winger, Rasil Baloch and pot his first of 2 goals on the night that the game started to settle.
NIFC equalized on the ensuing restart as the Seadogs were slow in a line change due to lack of communication.
Scarborough Athletic would take the lead in the 21st minute on a well executed counterattack goal from Ala Alhajsalem. Alhajsalem would add another in the 24th minute on a strong individual effort.
HT: NIFC 1:3 Scarborough Athletic FC Toronto
The second half saw the Canadian Seadogs take control of the match. Newcomer Rasil Baloch cut through the NIFC defense like a hot knife through butter to open his account with the club. This was rapidly followed by Massood's second goal on the night.
In the 47th minute, Zubire Tarin unleashed a blast that froze the NIFC keeper to make it 6-1. The home side would get two goals back on miscues and lack of communication but the defense would close the door as time ran out.
FT: NIFC 3:6 Scarborough Athletic FC Toronto
"We need to be able to get a lead and park the bus in front of the goal", said manager Drew Kellas. "While I'm happy with the 3 points, teams like NIFC will pick us apart if we continue to allow lapses in communication. There should never be a breakdown in defense when the midfield drops back to a defensive role. Jon (Harvey) and Junior (Gastis) worked their tails off
tonight and really deserve full credit".

"Boro" Back On Track - 4-1 Winners Over Black Irish FC
MONDAY NOVEMBER 23, 2015 (TORONTO, ON) Scarborough Athletic FC Toronto got back into the win column as debutante, Arash Massood, led the way with 2 goals and an assist.
From the outset, this was going to be a physical affair. Both sides were playing a hard aggressive style that yielded very few chances either way. Set pieces would play in favour and against the Seadogs. Twenty minutes in, a corner kick sprang Midfielder, Vivek Pathmanathan free and he slotted home the opening goal of the game.
Fortune can turn on a dime and it did. On the ensuing restart, Black Irish took advantage or a poor line change and equalized.
HT: Scarborough Athletic FC Toronto 1:1 Black Irish FC
Introducing Arash Massood. The speedy attacker put on a burst of speed and beat the keeper to open his account. Five minutes later Massood was at it again. This time he wove through four players and blasted the ball into the back of the net.
With minutes left, Zubire Tarin took a shot from a nearly impossible angle to make it 4-1.
FT: Scarborough Athletic FC Toronto 4:1 Black Irish
Veteran player Danley Johnson commented, "Solid win! We look strong, not organized but strong physically". All around good indications for things to come.

Streak Ends as "Boro" Fall 4-1 To Queens Park Rangers 2
MONDAY NOVEMBER 16, 2015 (TORONTO, ON) Scarborough Athletic FC Toronto suffered their first loss of the season as poor substitutions and personnel matching cost goals against.
The game started with end to end action. Goal keeper Steve Gatsis was called on several times early but kept the opponents off the score sheet. In a show of promise for the future, Scarborough Athletic capitalized on a set piece when midfielder Vivek Pathmanathan sent a free kick across the goal where striker Shire Yasin slotted home the first goal of the game.
Unfortunately a sloppy shift change allowed QPR2 to equalize just before the whistle.
HT: Queens Park Rangers 2 1:1 Scarborough Athletic FC Toronto
The second half saw QPR2 capitalize again and again and again on poor changes and mismatching personnel.
Keeper Steve Gatsis earned Man Of The Match honours for heroic efforts on the night but the men in Red and Black showed their cohesion and closed the game ahead 4-1.
FT: Queens Park Rangers 2 4:1 Scarborough Athletic FC Toronto
"We learned that you cannot make mistakes in substitutions tonight", said player/manager Drew Kellas. "In open play, we were pretty much equal and traded punches but put the wrong combinations of players or get lazy on a change and you will be pulling the ball out of the back of the net. We will have to look at this in training".

Undermanned “Canadian Seadogs” Pull Out Upset With 5-4 Win Over Real Danger FC
MONDAY NOVEMBER 9, 2015 (TORONTO, ON) Scarborough Athletic FC Toronto met their second opponents in the indoor season with only seven players. A mis-communication resulted in several key players missing the game.
"Boro" took to the field with a new striker on trial and a returning player who had missed the week before. Both figured prominently in a gritty effort. The first half started with end to end action but culminated in a Lesson of "Ball Is Faster Than Player" rapid fire pass-and-move between Stephen Masunda and trialist "Rami" put the home side in front.
The Reds stayed on the front foot and went up by 2 as Masunda slotted home the second just before the half time whistle.
HT: Scarborough Athletic FC Toronto 2:0 Real Danger FC
Fatigue set in and the home side gave back two quick goals before forward Pedrag Stojic earned a man advantage after being clattered by the real keeper. The reds would score twice in the ensuing power play with Rami & Masunda each notching their second goals of the game.
Despite the best efforts of defender Jon Harvey and some near-miraculous play from keeper Steve Gastis, the visitors equalized with two minutes to go. Enter returning Striker Zubire Tarin. After player/manager Drew Kellas earned a corner. Tarin took a pass and blasted home the winner from a sharp angle.
FT: Scarborough Athletic FC Toronto 5:4 Real Danger FC.
"With only 7 players tonight, the game was going to be a fight", said player/manager Drew Kellas. "We played well in the first half but, even undermanned, there should be no reason to let an opponent back into the game like that. The guys who missed tonight will hear from us. There is a lot of work to be done in training so we'll see what happens next week".
